We are not in Kansas anymore...

This past week has been eventful to say the least. From Monday through Thursday we were in classes to learn about mission office training. Such things as tracking mission finances, cars and housing along with using MS Word, Excel and Outlook for general office support. Lets just say that we were exposed to a lot of new things but won't know for sure what our specific assignment will be until we arrive in the field.

On Wednesday evening we surprised a group of young missionaries going to the Philippines (including 6 who are coming to the Cebu East Mission) with some Krispy Kreme doughnuts in order to show our support for them - and boost their sugar levels! They continue to study long after the seniors are done for the day. We found this note on our white board Thursday morning. Gotta love em!

Didn't get much sleep Thursday night as we did some laundry and final packing, but also thought it would be good to to start adjusting our schedule to that of the Philippines which is 14 hours ahead of Utah. If anyone wants to know what happens tomorrow, just give us a call and we'll let you know in advance. (We should make a killing in the stock market!)

Total travel time from when we left home until we arrived at our hotel was roughly 30 hours with about 18 of that in the air. The route was from Salt Lake to Seattle to Tokyo to Manila. This shows the leg from Seattle to Tokyo.

Vending machine in Tokyo's Narita airport. Sweat anyone?

This is the view from our hotel in Manila. Traffic is light because it is Sunday morning.
